The Penobscot Boys & Girls Club was established in 2000 as the first Native American Boys & Girls Club to be established in the Northeast region of the United States. For over a decade now, The Penobscot Boys & Girls Club has had the opportunity to serve native youth and has been in the forefront of youth development.

With a mission to inspire and enable all young people and their families, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Through hard-work and dedication the Club has been recognized nationally receiving the “Native American Service to Youth Award”. In addition we have produced three state of Maine “Youth of the Year”, which is the highest honor a Boys and Girls Club member can achieve.

Now we have expanded our services to even more youth than ever before, by transitioning from a club site to an organization.

Through the support of the Boys & Girls Club of America and our dedication and commitment to youth, our organization has recently chartered the 4 Maine Native Boys & Girls Club branches as Legal Boys & Girls Club Units/Extensions. The Aroostook Band of Micmacs Boys & Girls Club, The Maliseet Boys & Girls Club, The Passamaquoddy Boys & Girls Club and the Sipayik Boys & Girls Club.
